Gay Doolittle
Gay is the owner of Woodhaven Designs, a small business encompassing many aspects of design. During the year Gay is an interior decorator, master gardener, church hospitality coordinator and flower arranging garden club speaker. Come summer, however, her interests become more focused and specialized in decorating for weddings, receptions and other events held at the Buhrmaster Barn on the Pruyn House property in Newtonville, NY.
Over the last ten years Gay has collected antique milk cans and Mason jars, gathered grapevine with which to fashion garlands and wreaths, and handcrafted a model of the Buhrmaster Barn for use as a gift cardholder (see photo above.) These site specific, decorating materials form the backbone for her work which is then tailored to each bride’s color scheme, style, choice and placement of flowers. Only the highest quality, “you can’t believe they’re not real” fabric flowers are used, offering a cost saving, no-wilt, ecologically sound option for today’s bride.
